XV DIY Series
Production

A game-changing web series from De Le Rue Creative.
Developed to move away from large film crews and excessive planning to allow adventures to come naturally.
In partnership with Red Bull, The North Face, Swatch & Smith Optics.

DIY SEASON TWO

after a "trial" year in europe it was time to go big, taking the diy concept out to the wider world, japan, china, canada, france and the kuril islands.  Each location threw up unexpected challenges, from -40C with 100kmph winds, to death by paperwork and all sorts in between.

DIY CHAPTER 12: MISSION CANADA

Canada, camping, canines and couloirs, Xavier De Le Rue always manages to find a slightly alternative activity in the DIY series.

DIY CHAPTER 12: MISSION KURIL- PART TWO

Crashing 20metres to your head anywhere is scary, but when you are on the volcanic island of Kharimkotam, 700km from civilisation with only a boat to get help, things quickly become overwhelming, welcome to part two of DIY Mission Kuril.

DIY CHAPTER 11: MISSION KURIL - PART ONE

5 grown men, 5 weeks, 1500km a volcanic archipelago and Maewan the 30ft tin boat they called home – of course Xavier De Le Rue was in for the adventure.

DIY CHAPTER 10: MISSION ANGELIQUE
Re-uniting with the machines, Tony Lamiche and Alex Pittin in Chamonix, Xavier knew he was in for a mission and they did not disappoint choosing the Angelique Couloir as their objective.

DIY CHAPTER 9: MISSION CHINA

Volcanoes, scorpions, frostbite, gale force winds & North Korea - to say the DIY trip to China was surprising is a bit of an understatement.

DIY CHAPTER 8: MISSION JAPANUARY

DIY travels to Nosawa Onsen, Japan for neck deep powder, sushi
and onsens.

DIY SEASON ONE

To say that diy was a steep learning experience is an understatement, but as you may well know - xavier loves a challenge, and after a slow start with a lot of technical problems we got into the swing of things and crashed drones, sd card errors and no heating in the campervan couldn't hold us back!

DIY CHAPTER 7: MISSION SALEINA

Xavier De Le Rue and Samuel Anthamatten take on "The Big Crack" an imposing 1000m couloir sandwiched between high rocky walls with no obvious way out.

DIY CHAPTER 5: MISSION LOFOTEN

Xavier De Le Rue heads to the stunning Lofoten peninsula in search of big lines descending directly into the sea, cold surf and dubious
hunter gathering.

DIY CHAPTER 6: MISSION LYNGEN

Xavier De Le Rue sets out for the Lygnen Alps in search of deeper snow and Norwegian adventures.

DIy CHAPTER 4: MISSION PYRENEES

Xavier De Le Rue goes back to his Pyrenean roots to conquer his childhood dreams.

DIY CHAPTER 3: MISSIOn CHEVALIER

The world that Xavier De Le Rue in-habits, could be considered a step removed from most. In Chapter 3 of DIY, we see his world through the eyes of his wife, Beanie. With plans to travel far and wide across Europe, the snow had other ideas for the campers.

DIY CHAPTER 2: MISSION MALLORY

The Mallory Couloir in the North Face of the Aiguille du Midi, a rocky pinnacle rising 3,842m from the town of Chamonix into the thin air of Europe's higest mountain, the Mont Blanc. It's Téléphérique still holds the record for the highest vertical ascent cable car in the world.

DIY CHAPTER 1: MISSION DO IT YOURSELF

DIY is a new project by Xavier De Le Rue. The goal is to leave behind the large teams and logistics of expeditions and get back to the roots of snowboarding, travelling in a camper van with two additional elements: the Hexo+ [a flying film camera] and his wife.
